Very Poor Standard - My wife and I booked the executive double room for a 2 night stay, £330 inc breakfast. On arrival asked to see the room we were allocated, we were only allowed to peer through the doorway, as apparently if we were to walk into the room it would require stripping and deep cleaning again due to Covid19. We signed into the hotel, went into the room, and were extremely disappointed at what we found. The room and en-suite bathroom in particular bore no resemblance to the photographs displayed on Booking.com. Hotel refused to give a full refund or offer an alternative room, as we had checked in, even though we had to do this to view the room. We left in disgust with the Royal Oak and their misrepresentation of the rooms they advertise. We walked 100 metres down the road to the Inn On The Square, checked in for 2 nights there, the rooms were superb, as advertised, and the service and food were exceptional. I certainly would not recommend The Royal Oak Hotel in Keswick to anyone.

LEFT EARLY,,,,,, EXPENSIVE AND TINY ROOMS - booked room for new years eve, and day, £165 per night. paid £ 10 for a larger room,,,, was tiny,,,,,, bed squeezed in, view of a wall and greggs, could not sit on loo without burning arm on radiator,,, very hot exposed pipe feeding shower,,, could not turn in shower it was so small,,, AND CONNECTING DOOR ??? noise !!! actually give you dark eye cover and ear plugs,,,, creaking floor boards / staff shouting,,, bacon like cardboard,,,, complained when we left,, emailed manager 2 weeks later,,, still no reply,,,, camera angles on web page VERY DECEIVING ,,,,, thing is, staff were good,, but hotel,, sorry its poor,,, and NO REPLY OR REFUND.
